– The Aggie Dispatch
The Police
Department’s Crime Prevention Office will be sending out safety and crime
prevention newsletters six times each year.
Each issue will focus on a particular topic. The newsletters will be e-mailed to people
who are on the NMSU “ABCD” list, as well as via the Hotline and
Student-Hotline lists. The will also be
available on the Police Department website under the “Crime
Prevention” link.
General News
The NMSU Police
Department is currently looking for qualified applicants interested in being
police officers. This is a professional, highly trained police agency
with excellent benefits. If you are interested in working with an

Traffic Reports
There is heavy
traffic congestion weekdays during the morning (7:45 am – 9:00 am), noon
(11:45 am – 1:15 pm), and evening (4:45 pm – 6:00 pm) rush hours
along University Avenue. Traffic congestion is also common on
Interstate 25 southbound approaching the University Avenue exit during the morning
rush hour. Motorists are encouraged to
allow extra time in their schedule to compensate for these conditions, and to
always provide full attention to driving and avoid distractions.
There will be road
closures around the Pan
American Center
and Aggie Memorial Stadium on October 2 and October 9 due to the Aggie football
games scheduled on those days. If trying
to access other portions of the campus on those days, consider using the Espina Street or Union Avenue
entrances/exits.
